Fans have been waiting decades for a new live-action ‘Street Fighter’ adaptation since the 1994 camp cult classic, starring Jean-Claude Van Damme, Raúl Juliá, Kylie Minogue, and Ming-Na Wen. Now, after more than two years in development, a new film is finally in the works. The plot of the film is set in 1993, estranged Street Fighters Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo) are thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament: a brutal clash of fists, fate, and fury. But behind this battle royale lies a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and the demons of their past. And if they don’t, it’s GAME OVER! The film will be directed by Kitao Sakurai, who has taken over the project from Bring Her Back filmmakers Danny & Michael Philippou, and is set to be released on October 16, 2026, through Legendary’s new global distribution deal with Paramount Pictures. The film adaptation is being co-developed and co-produced alongside Capcom, the developer and publisher of the video games.  The full cast has been announced today, with Rayna Vallandingham cast as Juli, Olivier Richters in the role of Zangief, Mel Jarnson playing Cammy, and Eric André rounding out the ensemble as Don Sauvage. While the story for the film remains tightly under wraps, casting news has been coming in fast and furious.  Previously announced on Deadline was Hirooki Goto taking on the role of E. Honda and Vidyut Jammwal portraying Dhalsim. Previously confirmed cast members to the roster include David Dastmalchian as the iconic villain M. Bison, Orville Peck as Vega, Callina Liang stepping into the role of Chun-Li, and Andrew Schulz as Dan Hibiki. These new faces join an already star-studded cast that features Andrew Koji, Noah Centineo, Jason Momoa, Cody Rhodes, Roman Reigns, and Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.
