A web project that visualizes a randomly selected individual from the estimated 117 billion people who have ever lived. For each draw it displays an illustrated portrait with basic demographic inferences (approximate birth date, place, sex/gender where inferable) and contextual data derived from historical and population models. The project explores scale, anonymity, and how data reduces individual lives to simple statistics. Includes controls to redraw and view source methodology and data assumptions.
